The West Lochaber Deer Management Group was formally constituted in 1992 with the purpose of co-ordinating matters relating to deer management within the Group area.
The area covered extends from Achnacarry near Spean Bridge in the east to Arisaig in the west; bounding with the East Loch Shiel and Moidart DMG to the south and the Knoydart DMG to the north.

Membership of the Group is open to the owners of land within the Group area plus any co-opted members agreed by the Group. Group meetings are open to both members and all those involved in deer management on their land. The total Group area is in excess of 51,800 ha.
